Many girls especially students and beginners, shun away from makeup because it costs a bomb. But we’re here to give you a list of affordable products that will help you shine brightly. The best part? Every product is under Rs 200!! So what are you waiting for?
Lakme perfecting liquid foundation: Rs 135
Lakme is an Indian brand and it’s a benefit for us that the products are so affordable. Does this bring back memories? This might be one of the first foundations you might have heard of or your mom used when you were a kid.
A smooth finish with a glow, it offers medium coverage. Available in 4 different shades, most suited for Indian skin tones. It sinks into your skin and lifts up the glow from within.
Me Now Highlighter Contour Cream Concealer Palette: Rs. 129
Me Now is only available online. I don’t want to make false promises but there aren’t any best concealers under Rs.200 but this you can work with — if you are on a budget.
This palette has colour correctors and different concealing shades. It’s creamy and soft but you need to work a little to blend it nicely. Best suitable for dry skin.
SETTING POWDER :
Maybelline New York White Super Fresh Compact: Rs. 160
Maybelline is one of the trusted brands in India and their prices are easy on the pocket. This compact is the bestseller and comes in 4 shades. It gives a matte finish and helps your makeup stay put for long hours. So, a thumbs up for its quality. You can use it daily too.
Coloressence Panstick: Rs. 180
This is a stick foundation, which works better as contour than a foundation. You can opt for a deeper cool toned shade while buying it. Although it is gentle on skin and not cakey, you might want to blend it fast as it dries up quickly.
Word of advice, an eyeshadow that resembles a contour shade can also do the trick; no need for extra investment.
Blue Heaven Diamond Blush: Rs.105
This is the best bargain! For just Rs.100 you can buy this amazing blush which comes in 6 different shades and all the shades could be used as an eyeshadow as well. The pretty and natural shades add the perfect pop of colour you need. An upside is that it smells great too!
Blue Heaven Shimmer Dust / Essence eyeshadow : Rs.95 / Rs.129
This is the most unexpected thing but there isn’t any highlighter, in particular, that is under Rs.200. But there are so many eyeshadow singles and shimmer dust that you can work with. These two in specific I love using as highlighting shades; perfect glow and not chunky too.
Blue Heaven Eye Magic Eye Shadow:
It’s again from the house of Blue heaven as we all know, it’s one of the affordable brands. Their eyeshadow quad is one the best as they have many different combinations you can choose from. There are plenty of good single shadows under Rs.200
Brands like Wetnwild, Makeup Revolution and Essence have so many options for single eyeshadows and they are of amazing quality as well.
Faces Magnet Eyes Kajal: Rs. 179
When it comes to Kajal hands down, Faces Magnet Eyes Kajal takes the win. Highly pigmented, no eye irritation (personal experience), no smudges and long-lasting. Here the price doesn’t matter as I’ve tried many brands of varying prices and even the expensive ones are capable of making your eyes water.
Lakme Insta Eye Liner: Rs. 108
Believe it or not, I’ve been using this for almost 10-12 years now. It’s the best budget eyeliner which gives you precise application. Let it dry for a few minutes, then it’s easy to carry it for the day. The brush tip is very fine for thin lines and wing lines, with a jet black shade. Yet not a good option for summer.
Miss Claire Waterproof Eyebrow Pencil: Rs. 99
It’s very creamy and glides easily; so use it with a light hand if you need hair-like strokes. You could use a lighter shade if you haven’t perfected precision. Comes with a brush to set, which is helpful. Since eyebrows are one of the main parts of makeup, this is a must-have in your kit.
Rimmel Extra Super Lash Building Mascara: Rs. 193
Rimmel isn’t the most familiar brands but you must try this. This gives very natural yet fuller lashes. The price on Amazon is crazy! Try buying it via Nykaa or other websites.
But if you are ok investing Rs 100 more then you could definitely opt for Essence Get Big! Lashes Volume Curl Mascara. It’s one of the best mascaras that I have come across.
Elle 18 Color Pop Lip Color / Lakme Enrich Lip Crayon : Rs. 100 / Rs. 148
I could not stop myself from mentioning both of them just because they are both amazing products.
Elle 18 has so many shades and finishes; I love all of the finishes the texture and colour pay off for the price is simply awesome. Smells very nice, creamy and no dry lips — totally worth the money.
Lakme lip crayon is very easy to apply; as it’s a crayon you wouldn’t need a mirror for touch-ups. My only problem is the quantity is average.
